As the days pass we get so caught up in life and often times forget to ground ourselves and check in with ourselves. We get caught up in the routine of work, social media, our relationships, and so much other daily activities that may drain our energy without us even realizing it. A good tool to combat this mindless routine behavior is to take some time and energy to check on yourself.

“How have I been?”

“Do I like the path where I’m currently heading?”

“Am I betraying my own needs in any way?”

“What limiting beliefs have I been telling myself that are stopping me from growing?”

Take the time to reflect on you and your surroundings and then release what is no longer giving me the growth I deserve. To reflect and release has very much become an important part of my life and the best time for me personally has been at night. (Shoutout the moon.) I’ll either journal or simply sit there and reflect. Reflect on my behaviors, habits I may have developed, reflect on my emotions, and other events that may have triggered a reaction from me. Once I reflect, I’m then able to figure out what to release. Whether it’s releasing a limiting belief about myself, a bad habit I formed, or anything draining my energy that I feel is no longer serving my higher purpose.

Taking the time to reflect and release has personally helped me a lot with my constant overthinking. I’ll reflect on the thoughts that when on in my head, whether it’s me not being kind to myself, me casting judgment on others, or me creating a reality I don’t even know to be true. I reflect on those thoughts to stop them because I know once we give our attention to that thought, it becomes more real over time and we give it more power over our life. This will then trigger a reaction out of us and cause us to act out of emotion. This is why your thoughts are so powerful and you do in fact become what you think. This is why it’s so important to reflect and release.
